Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician Profession: Nursing Specialty: RN Medical Center Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 8hr Day Shift Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: Minimum 1.5 years preferred License: CRCST or CBSPD required Certifications: Required Must-Have: - Previous experience using Steris SPM instrument tracking software - Ability to independently use steam sterilizers, VPro units, and Medivators Description: Will work at both main and east sterile processing sites. Will rotate with other team members in decontamination, assembly, and sterilization. Responsible for the proper care of all surgical instruments and equipment, including scopes and powered surgical instruments. Duties include inspection, evaluation of proper function, cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilization. Maintain quality control and documentation records of the sterilization process. Distribute designated supplies and equipment to all areas. Experience with a variety of instruments for service lines including orthopedics, ophthalmology, neuro, plastics, ENT, urology, cardiothoracic, vascular, GYN, robotics, and general surgery is required. Perform steam sterilization, low temp (VPro) sterilization, and high-level disinfection. Assembly, sterilization, wrapping, decontamination, and instrument inspection responsibilities included. Will routinely float between decontamination, assembly, and sterilization tasks. Operate independently; may be the only person in decontamination, assembly, or sterilization. Tracking system for sterilization experience using SPM is required.
