With top clients to boast about, Synechron has a global workforce of 17,000+, and has 58 offices in 22 countries within key global markets.**Our challenge**As a Senior Product Owner focused on Municipal Bonds, the candidate will be responsible for maximizing product value across the primary issuance lifecycle. This role defines and drives the product vision and roadmap for Munis issuance, syndication, pricing, allocation, and settlement workflows, ensuring alignment with business strategy and regulatory requirements. The Product Owner partners closely with front office, syndicate desks, operations, and technology teams in a scaled Agile model to deliver efficient, transparent, and audit-ready execution. Additional Information\\*The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within New York, NY is $130k - $150k/year & benefits (see below).**The Role****Responsibilities:*** Develop deep expertise in Munis deal lifecycle, including new issue workflows, order book management, allocations, and investor distribution* Define and execute the product vision and roadmap aligned to strategic priorities for Munis platforms (e.g., Deal Central / issuance platforms)* Experience in Municipal Bonds primary markets (issuance, syndication, pricing, allocations, settlement)* Develop deep expertise in Munis deal lifecycle, including new issue workflows, order book management, allocations, and investor distribution* Define and execute the product vision and roadmap aligned to strategic priorities for Munis platforms (e.g., Deal Central / issuance platforms)* Drive front-to-back workflow integration, ensuring seamless data flow across origination, syndication, and settlement systems* Partner with syndicate desks, bankers, sales, and operations to understand pain points and prioritize high-impact solutions* Communicate product strategy, roadmap, and outcomes to senior stakeholders (including C-suite) and drive adoption across business users* Own and prioritize the program and product backlog, balancing regulatory, business, and platform modernization priorities* Lead delivery across 1–3 cross-functional Agile teams, ensuring alignment and value delivery* Define and refine user stories and acceptance criteria with a focus on automation, data integrity, and client transparency* Make real-time trade-off decisions between new features, regulatory requirements, and platform stability* Ensure high-quality delivery and acceptance of features, with a focus on scalability and resilience* Drive automation and straight-through processing (STP) across Munis execution workflows* Support user training, demos, and change management to improve adoption and user experience**Requirements:*** Deep understanding of: Municipal bond issuance lifecycle (competitive & negotiated deals), Syndication, pricing, and allocation processes, Regulatory and compliance requirements in Munis markets* Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Finance, or related field; MBA/MS preferred* Experience working directly with front office (syndicate/trading desks) is strongly preferred* Strong understanding of fixed income products and market structure* Proven ability to translate business needs into scalable technology solutions* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills* Experience troubleshooting production issues and driving timely resolution* Excellent communication skills with ability to present complex topics to business and executive stakeholders* Experience leading large-scale platform initiatives and user experience improvements* Strong Agile experience- Backlog prioritization, story writing, acceptance criteria, Tools such as JIRA and Confluence* Experience working in global, cross-functional teams* Familiarity with reporting/BI tools and standard productivity tools (MS Office, Visio, etc.)**Preferred, but not required:*** Experience and desire to work in an Agile process (pair programming, daily stand-ups, etc.).* Demonstrable knowledge of problem domain in which they have been working.* Strong communication skills.* Passion to learn new technology.* Relevant industry (banking middle/back office/Finance) experience.**We offer:*** A highly competitive compensation and benefits package.* A multinational organization with 58 offices in 22 countries and the possibility to work abroad.* 10 days of paid annual leave (plus sick leave and national holidays).* Maternity & paternity leave plans.* A comprehensive insurance plan including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and long-/short-term disability (plans vary by region).* Retirement savings plans.* A higher education certification policy.* Commuter benefits (varies by region).* Extensive training opportunities, focused on skills, substantive knowledge, and personal development.* On-demand Udemy for Business for all Synechron employees with free access to more than 5000 curated courses.* Coaching opportunities with experienced colleagues from our Financial Innovation Labs (FinLabs) and Center of Excellences (CoE) groups.* Cutting edge projects at the world’s leading tier-one banks, financial institutions and insurance firms.* A flat and approachable organization.* A truly diverse, fun-loving, and global work culture.
