Shipping Clerk

The Shipping Clerk is responsible for preparing, documenting, and releasing outbound shipments accurately and on schedule. This role works closely with warehouse, transportation, and customer service teams to ensure orders leave complete, correctly labeled, and on time.

• Pull, stage, verify, and package outbound orders against pick tickets and packing slips
• Generate and apply shipping labels, BOLs, and packing lists; process shipments through carrier systems (UPS, FedEx, LTL/common carrier)
• Verify piece counts, weights, dimensions, and product codes prior to release
• Coordinate with drivers and carriers on pickup times, appointment scheduling, and trailer loading
• Enter and maintain shipment records in the WMS/ERP system; correct discrepancies
• Perform cycle counts and assist with inventory reconciliation on shipped goods
• Communicate delays, shortages, or damaged product to supervisors and customer service
• Maintain a clean, organized, and OSHA-compliant shipping area

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 1+ years of shipping, receiving, or warehouse clerical experience
• Basic computer skills; experience with WMS, ERP, or carrier software preferred
• Ability to read and interpret shipping documents and follow written instructions
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy with numbers
• Forklift and/or pallet jack experience a plus (certification available on site)

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly
• Standing, walking, bending, and reaching throughout an 8-hour shift
• Work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures
