About the Role MiniMed is seeking a Systems Engineer II with experience developing and supporting complex medical-device systems, including infusion pumps, subcutaneous infusion systems, medical mobile applications, implantable medical devices, and medical cloud services. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in systems engineering, requirements engineering and development, and design development with the ability to translate user and system needs into robust, compliant, and integrated solutions. Located in Northridge CA. Must be onsite 4 days per week/1 day remote. Responsibilities Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, evaluates alternatives including cost and risk, supportability and analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. Technical Specialist Career Stream An individual contributor with responsibility in our technical functions to advance existing technology or introduce new technology and therapies. Formulates, delivers and/or manages projects assigned and works with other stakeholders to achieve desired results. May act as a mentor to colleagues or may direct the work of other lower level professionals. The majority of time is spent delivering R&D, systems or initiatives related to new technologies or therapies – from design to implementation – while adhering to policies, using specialized knowledge and skills. Contacts others to share information, status, needs and issues in order to inform, gain input, and support decision‑making. Leadership and Talent Management: May provide guidance and assistance to entry level professionals and / or employee in Support Career Stream. Required Knowledge and Experience Requires practical knowledge and demonstrated competence within job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. PR) locations (USD):$87,000.00 - $149,000.00 For roles located in California, Seattle WA, Washington DC, Boston MA, and New York City, the salary range is $97,000.00 - 165,000.00 USD. Actual compensation may vary based on factors including experience, education, certifications, skills, market conditions, internal equity, and geographic location. Compensation and benefits information pertain solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others) This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Short Term Incentive (STI).
