Travel Nurse RN – Special Procedures / GI Lab

Assignment Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Special Procedures / GI Lab for a travel assignment. In this role, you'll assist with a variety of gastrointestinal diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in a fast-paced, team-oriented endoscopy environment. This is an 8-week travel assignment with 4×10-hour shifts per week.

What You'll Do

• Prepare patients for GI procedures including colonoscopies, upper endoscopies (EGD), ERCP, bronchoscopies, and other special procedures
• Administer moderate (conscious) sedation and monitor patient response throughout procedures
• Assist physicians with instrumentation, specimen handling, and procedural support
• Perform pre-procedure assessment, patient education, and post-procedure recovery monitoring
• Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR in accordance with facility policies
• Ensure proper reprocessing and handling of scopes and equipment per infection control standards
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, high-quality patient care
• Respond to patient emergencies in accordance with ACLS protocols

Schedule Details

• Shift: 4×10-hour shifts per week
• Contract Length: 8 weeks

Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered RN license (Compact license preferred; state license assistance available)
• Minimum 1–2 years of GI Lab / Endoscopy or Special Procedures RN experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required
• Experience with conscious sedation required
• SGNA certification (CGRN) preferred but not required
• Familiarity with EMR systems; Epic experience a plus
• Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills
