Financial Analyst 1

Position Details Financial Analyst 1 – Full time employee located in Coral Gables, FL. Responsibilities Prepare and coordinate documentation of financial analysis projects such as budgets, forecasts, projections, expense performance, and presentations. Identify trends and developments in competitive environments and present findings. Provide analytical support for forward-looking financial or business-related projects. Perform financial forecasting and reconciliation of accounts. Design and build models summarizing growth and expansion scenarios. Develop and maintain performance and productivity dashboards, models, or analyses. Collect, interpret, and analyze relevant data or metrics. Develop and maintain reports to support plans, business decisions, operational changes, strategic plans, and new services. Resolve reporting issues. Make recommendations to align policies and procedures with best practices and capitalize on financial opportunities. Adhere to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguard assets. Department Specific Functions Serve as primary financial analyst supporting multiple academic and administrative units within Shared Services, providing strategic guidance and operational support. Collaborate with department leadership to develop, monitor, and analyze annual operating budgets, forecasts, and long‑range financial plans. Review financial activity across assigned units, identify budget variances and expenditure trends, and provide recommendations. Assist departments with preparation and review of financial transactions including purchase requisitions, budget transfers, journal entries, expense reimbursements, payroll funding changes, and Workday transactions. Serve as liaison between assigned departments and central offices including Finance, Human Resources, Procurement, and Sponsored Programs to facilitate efficient operations and issue resolution. Core Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (required). Minimum 1 year of relevant experience. Learning agility – ability to learn new procedures and adapt to changing priorities. Teamwork – ability to collaborate and contribute to a team environment. Technical proficiency – skilled in using office software and relevant applications.
