Step into a rewarding full-time contract opportunity supporting young learners as a Special Education Teacher focused on Intellectual Disabilities and Autism. Working with a close-knit K-6th grade caseload of just eight students, you will provide individualized support in a self-contained classroom setting located near Oshkosh, WI. This position begins as soon as possible and extends through the end of the school year, offering you the chance to make a meaningful difference right away.

You will collaborate with a dedicated team, including two talented paraprofessionals, to ensure every student receives the resources and attention they need to succeed. While the classroom is primarily self-contained, students also participate in adaptive art, music, physical education, and, in several cases, join their peers for science and social studies—further enhancing their inclusion and growth.

Desired Qualifications & Experience:

• Wisconsin certification in Special Education or eligibility for licensure
• Experience in K-6 special education classrooms, with a preference for those familiar with students with Intellectual Disabilities and Autism
• Strong understanding of IEP development, data collection, and progress monitoring
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with staff and supporting families
• Compassionate, patient, and committed to fostering a nurturing environment
• Ability to adapt instruction to diverse learning needs

What You’ll Do:

• Deliver differentiated instruction and interventions tailored to a small group
• Oversee two classroom paraprofessionals and collaborate with related service providers
• Develop and implement IEPs for students on your caseload
• Track student progress and adapt programming as needed
• Facilitate smooth transitions for students joining grade-level activities
• Promote independence, self-advocacy, and social-emotional skills
