Operations Specialist – Top Secret Clearance | Virginia Beach, VA Cambridge International Systems, Inc. What You’ll Do Member of a 24/7 support team responsible for overseeing daily operations. Work within a team standing a rotating watch to ensure project deliverables. Monitor operations and mission support systems (generators, HVAC, etc.) and use technical tools to resolve issues. Monitor IT mission equipment including servers, clients, routers, switches, and telecommunications cabling. Provide basic troubleshooting skills, act as an escalation manager liaison between operations and support elements for rapid restoration notification. Provide timely updates to customers, Senior Leadership, and the Program Manager for situational awareness documentation. Conduct pass‑down briefings, maintain pass‑down logs, and present to incoming watch teams; train and mentor newly assigned and/or junior watch standers. Prepare and administer operational procedures and initiate ongoing updates and changes. Conduct routine project status meetings with Government Project Managers and company project teams to identify challenges, risks, and alternatives. Facilitate or participate in the creation of deliverables such as SOPs, System Assessments, and Project Status Reports for the Government. Instruct personnel and technical staff in equipment and systems operations, maintenance methods, safe work practices, and administer apprenticeship programs. Ensure project deadlines are kept and tasks remain within project scope. Assist in the operations and maintenance of an organization by performing complex technical work and directing others as assigned. Provide front‑line and high‑level IT hardware, software, and network support to internal and/or external clients. Reply to requests for technical assistance; identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to hardware, software, and networks; and escalated issues if unresolved. Support core business applications, virtual environments, firewalls, and networking. Plan, design, configure, and implement IT hardware and software systems; monitor and maintain physical and virtual servers, appliances, and applications. What You’ll Bring Required Qualifications: Education & Experience: Minimum High School and four (4) years’ experience working in a team environment. Clearance: Current and active DoD Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI; proficient with modern IT tools and infrastructure technologies. Preferred (Nice to Have): Act as escalation manager liaison between operations and support elements for rapid restoration notification. Show initiative and ability to work within a team while keeping management informed of shifting priorities and challenges. Well organized and detail oriented. Ability to follow SOP. Willing and able to work shift, overtime, holidays, and weekends as required. Ability to establish confidence and credibility with managers and senior level leaders and foster open communications within teams. Work effectively in diverse environments with civilians, military, and contractors. Concurrently handle multiple issues and assignments; work on assignments requiring considerable judgment and initiative. Develop solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope following detailed instructions. Proficient with modern IT tools and infrastructure technologies. Travel & Passport Some overnight stays possible. Physical & Work Environment Requirements Periods of prolonged sitting and/or standing, including desk‑based computer work. Occasional extended work hours, including evenings or weekends, as needed. Work is performed in a secure facility where personal electronic devices may be restricted. Physical activities may include bending, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling materials within established lift guidelines. Use of tools and equipment as required for the role. Communication with team members, customers, and stakeholders through verbal and written methods. Ability to manage competing priorities, work under deadlines, and maintain attention to detail. Interaction with others in dynamic environments, including problem‑solving and conflict resolution.
