You can review the additional job description section on postings for documents that may be required.* Prior to submitting your application, please review and update (if necessary) the information in your candidate profile as it will transfer to your application.## Job Title:Student Design Assistant## Department:OHTECH | OARnet Engineering Team-JMOARnet is seeking a detail-oriented student pursuing a four-year college degree in graphic design, visual communication, or a related field for a paid Ohio State University student worker position. The student designer's primary responsibilities will be to build and maintain visual communication diagrams and artwork for internal and external audiences, predominantly using Adobe Illustrator and established templates.The designer will use Illustrator templates to translate engineering sketches into polished diagrams and develop additional visual assets as needed.The ideal candidate demonstrates a genuine enthusiasm for informational graphics, along with an interest in technology and learning new subjects. Strong organizational skills, consistency, and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.This position offers a flexible work schedule and the opportunity to develop Illustrator and visual communication skills further.**Education/Experience Required*** Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Microsoft Excel. **Application*** Please include a design portfolio or at least three samples of your work.## Additional Information:* This position offers employment throughout the year, including the summer months and academic breaks, optionally.* Work schedule: Flexible during business hours 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. Monday-Friday* The position is a hybrid position; during the training period, the candidate must be on-site ( office location is on West Campus – 1224 Kinnear Road)The Targeted Hiring Rate for this position is $14 hourly.## Location:Kinnear Rd, 1224 (0374)## Position Type:Temporary (Fixed Term)## Scheduled Hours:20## **Shift:**First Shift***Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check.
