Salary: $20.00–$25.00/hour + Shift Premium, based on experience
Shifts: 1st, 2nd & 3rd Shift

Position Overview

We are seeking qualified Swiss CNC Machine Operators to set up and operate Tsugami CNC Swiss lathes in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on Swiss CNC experience and be capable of producing precision-machined parts while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and productivity.

The position requires the ability to read and edit CNC programs, interpret blueprints and technical drawings, inspect finished parts, troubleshoot routine machine issues, and perform basic machine maintenance.

All work is performed onsite at the Valley City, Ohio facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Tsugami CNC Swiss lathes .
• Monitor machines and equipment to ensure proper operation.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications .
• Read, understand, format, and edit CNC programs as required.
• Inspect first-piece parts and obtain approval before starting production.
• Perform in-process inspections according to established procedures and customer requirements.
• Use precision measuring instruments, including:
• • Calipers
  • Micrometers
  • Thread gages
  • Depth micrometers
• Make general decisions regarding quality, tolerances, and sequence of operations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve routine and selected non-routine production or equipment issues.
• Perform secondary operations as required.
• Complete daily maintenance checks on assigned equipment.
• Properly care for tools, equipment, and materials.
• Identify and report faulty equipment, defective materials, improper operations, and unusual conditions.
• Maintain accurate and timely production records and reports.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and internal teams.
• Maintain proper housekeeping and safety standards.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and process improvements.
• Complete assignments efficiently while meeting quality and customer expectations.

Required Qualifications

• 1–2+ years of related CNC machining experience and/or equivalent education and training.
• Previous Swiss CNC machine experience is required.
• Experience with Tsugami CNC Swiss lathes is strongly preferred.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical documents.
• Understanding of CNC programming, including program reading, formatting, and editing.
• Ability to use precision inspection gages and measuring equipment.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
• Good organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong verbal communication and teamwork skills.
• Demonstrated interest in continuous improvement and process efficiency.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

The position involves working in a manufacturing environment with:

• Frequent standing, walking, and reaching.
• Frequent use of hands to operate machinery and move materials.
• Exposure to temperature variations and elevated noise levels.
• Exposure to machine lubrication oils.
• Moderate physical activity while operating and monitoring CNC machinery.
• Occasional lifting, pushing, and pulling.
• Frequent bending.
• Occasional squatting and kneeling to inspect or repair machines.
• Occasional lifting of raw materials, pans of parts, and tooling.
