This is a newly created role designed to support the company's expanding robotic automation footprint in North America. This technician will serve as a hands-on technical expert in the field, supporting customers through installations, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, upgrades, and long-term service support.Key ResponsibilitiesField Service & Customer SupportInstall, commission, service, and support robotic press brake and panel bender systems at customer sitesPerform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and basic robotic troubleshooting on automated bending systemsDiagnose equipment failures, resolve downtime issues, and execute corrective repairsPerform preventive and predictive maintenance on robotic cells and bending equipmentSupport upgrades, retrofits, and legacy equipment in the fieldRobotics & Automation SupportOperate industrial robots using teach pendants for manual motion, jogging, point teaching, and frame setupTroubleshoot robotic I/O, sensors, safety circuits, and interlocksRead, understand, and modify basic robot programs (logic edits, IF/OR statements, jump labels, minor code changes)Support robotic safety systems including E-Stops, light curtains, safety zones, and DCS conceptsWork primarily with FANUC and KUKA robots (experience with either is acceptable)Applications & Process Support Assist with applications-level support related to bending processes and part flowRead 2D drawings and understand bend sequencing and forming conceptsSupport CAD/CAM-driven workflows where applicable (training provided)Collaborate with internal teams and factory specialists during complex installations or escalationsCollaboration & Knowledge SharingCommunicate regularly with remote field teammates to troubleshoot and share best practicesSupport internal training efforts and assist customers with operational guidance when neededMaintain accurate service documentation, time reporting, and field notesRequired QualificationsTechnical Background2+ years of hands-on experience in field service, maintenance, applications, or automation supportStrong mechanical and electrical aptitude (non-negotiable)Experience working with industrial robots in a production or service environmentAbility to operate robots via teach pendant (jogging, teaching points, basic edits)Experience troubleshooting: Electrical systems and schematics, Pneumatics, Sensors, I/O, and safety circuitsExperience supporting CNC or sheet-metal fabrication equipment (press brakes strongly preferred)Robotics & ControlsFamiliarity with FANUC, KUKA, or similar industrial robotsAbility to read and interpret robot programs and modify basic logicUnderstanding of robotic safety concepts and integrated machine safetyProfessional SkillsStrong customer-facing communication skills; calm and professional under pressureSelf-starter with the ability to work independently in a remote field role xhyhwjd Trustworthy, detail-oriented, and accurate with time and service reportingWillingness and ability to learn new platforms, equipment, and technologiesTravel & Work EnvironmentComfortable with extensive travel (primarily Monday–Friday)Willingness to support occasional weekend work for installs, trade shows, or critical service needsMust live within reasonable driving distance of a major airportPreferred / Nice-to-Have QualificationsPrior experience running or supporting robotic press brake cellsExposure to panel benders (training provided; experience rare and not required)Basic CAD/CAM experience related to sheet-metal processingExperience in a customer-facing field service role within capital equipment or industrial automationCompensation & BenefitsHourly pay with overtime$90/day per diem when travelingMedical, dental, and vision insurance (effective 1st of the month following hire)Company-paid life insurance (up to $50,000)Company-paid short- and long-term disability401(k) with company matchPaid Time Off starting at 15 days per year12 paid holidaysTools and uniforms providedTravel expenses paid by the company in advance
