Support For Student Information System
Primary Purpose: Provide support to end users in all areas of the Student Information System. Reconcile PEIMS data, make corrections as needed. Process grades, run and distribute reports. Provide parent/guardian support.
Qualifications: High school diploma or GED certificate One (1) or more years' experience working with a student information system and/or PEIMS - preferred Special Knowledge/Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Proficient keyboarding and file maintenance skills Ability to use computer and software; skill with Microsoft and Google products (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, etc.) Knowledge of the District's Student Information System Proficient working knowledge of PEIMS Data Standards and the Student Attendance Accounting Handbook Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) Ability to respond to questions and complaints with clarity, patience, understanding, and remain courteous Ability to multi-task using several devices and modes of communication simultaneously Ability to problem solve data technical issues and user interaction Attention to detail Ability to work as a team Proactive, self-motivated, and self-directed
Major Responsibilities and Duties: Records and Reports: Verify dates and times for grade reporting. Send out timelines for progress reports and report cards. Verify completion, process, and print progress reports and report cards each six weeks. Print Grade Labels during end of year process. Process and submit the TSDS Student Unique ID file. Reconcile near-matches and discrepancies. Make demographic changes as needed. Reconcile TSDS Presumed Duplicate Student Report for Enrollment. Resolve PID (personal identification) errors for the Fall and Spring PEIMS Submissions. Monitor campuses compliance for TREx Requests. Verify completion of CEHI forms, verify and enter CEHI absences. Notify campuses of student's CEHI status and attendance. Monitor coding for in-district and out-of-district transfers. Enter required PEIMS data on out-of-district transfers. Reconcile Student Membership Reconciliation the 1st and 4th six weeks. Provide support to parents/guardians. Assist in running edits, reports, and verification checks on data to ensure accuracy of information. Running and distributing Six Weeks Superintendent Principal reports to appropriate staff for analysis, verification, and correction. Process data requests for both in-district staff and out-of-district entities. Assist in verifying data submitted to the TEA. Assist in providing support for audits. Training and Technical Support: Provide support for end users in all areas of the Student Information System, including, but not limited to, student maintenance, grade reporting, scheduling, attendance accounting, special programs, discipline, historical data, health services, and grade book. Work with District personnel to ensure understanding of proper procedures, policies, and practices in accordance with the Texas Student Attendance Accounting Handbook and the PEIMS Data Standards. Attend training sessions as necessary/required. Other: Assist in complying with policies and procedures established by federal and state law, State board of Education rule, and local Board policy. Comply with the District standard for state and Federal accounting laws and procedures in the Texas Student Attendance Accounting Handbook and PEIMS Data Standards. Assist in compiling, maintaining, and filing all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required. Perform all duties as assigned. Assists with the functionality of the Student Information System as related to student data. Supervisory Responsibilities: None. Equipment Used: Computer, printer, fax machine, copier and phone. Working Conditions: Fast-paced and at times stressful in meeting state required deadlines; occasional prolonged and irregular hours. Work with frequent interruptions. Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Ability to perform mathematical calculations and complex spreadsheet functions. Prolonged use of computer resulting in repetitive hand motions. Ability to maintain emotional control under stress. Wage/Hour Status: Non-exempt Pay Grade: Information Technology - 2
