Licensed Practical Nurse

Help Shape the Future of Community-Based Primary Care

Archer Family Health Care is expanding to meet the healthcare needs of our growing community, and we are seeking talented, compassionate, and dedicated professionals to join our team. As part of our expansion, we are adding new positions across clinical, administrative, and operational functions to support enhanced patient access, innovative care delivery, and continued excellence in family-centered healthcare.

Located within the University of Florida College of Nursing, Archer Family Health Care delivers high-quality, evidence-based primary care services while serving as a dynamic clinical learning environment for future healthcare professionals. Our team is committed to improving health outcomes, advancing interprofessional collaboration, and providing exceptional care to individuals and families across the lifespan.

Under the direction of licensed healthcare providers and clinic leadership, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in a primary care clinic setting. The LPN plays a vital role in supporting clinical operations by conducting patient intake and assessments, preparing patients for examinations and procedures, administering medications and immunizations, performing routine diagnostic testing, and assisting providers in the delivery of safe and effective care.

The LPN supports care coordination and patient engagement activities through patient education, telephone triage, follow-up communications, and collaboration with patients, providers, and community healthcare partners. The position is responsible for maintaining accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) and ensuring compliance with clinical, regulatory, and organizational standards.

In addition to direct patient care responsibilities, the LPN assists with clinic operations by managing medical supplies and inventories, maintaining examination rooms, supporting vaccine management activities, and performing related administrative functions. The role contributes to quality improvement initiatives, EHR optimization efforts, workflow enhancements, and other projects designed to improve patient outcomes, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong clinical skills, excellent communication and customer service abilities, and a commitment to collaborative, team-based care. This position requires a compassionate approach to serving diverse patient populations and a dedication to advancing the mission of the clinic through excellence in patient care and continuous improvement.

  • Assist healthcare providers with the delivery of patient care, including clinical procedures, treatments, and care coordination activities.

Medication Administration and Diagnostic Testing

  • Administer medications, vaccines, and immunizations in accordance with established protocols, provider orders, and regulatory standards.
  • Monitor patients for adverse reactions and provide patient education regarding prescribed treatments.
  • Perform and document diagnostic and point-of-care testing, collect specimens as appropriate, and ensure timely reporting of results to providers for clinical decision-making.

Clinical Documentation and Health Record Management

  • Maintain complete, timely, and compliant medical records in accordance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.
  • Support data integrity initiatives and assist in maintaining accurate patient information within the EHR system.

Interprofessional Collaboration and Quality Improvement

  • Contribute to clinical workflow optimization, EHR-related projects, and organizational initiatives that support patient-centered care, regulatory compliance, and practice improvement.

Administrative, Inventory, and Clinical Operations Support

  • Provide operational support to ensure efficient clinic functions, including retrieving and processing faxes, scanning and indexing documents into the EHR, obtaining and communicating laboratory and diagnostic test results, and maintaining accurate patient records.
  • Prepare, clean, stock, and organize examination rooms and clinical workspaces to ensure readiness for patient care.
  • Manage vaccine inventory, including storage monitoring, ordering, receiving, and reconciliation activities.
  • Oversee medical supplies inventory by monitoring stock levels, ordering necessary supplies, and maintaining adequate resources to support uninterrupted clinical operations.

The clinic is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position requires flexibility to work assigned shifts during the clinic's operating hours, including days, evenings, and weekends.
