Job DescriptionFull-Time Certified Medical Assistant\nAlaska Trauma & Acute Care Surgery (ATACS)\nAnchorage, Alaska\nAlaska Health Services, the management company for Alaska Trauma & Acute Care Surgery (ATACS), is seeking an experienced individual for full-time employment as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).\nATACS is a group practice of general surgeons in Anchorage, Alaska, providing comprehensive surgical consultative, operative, and post-operative care to patients for multiple providers. The position is primarily based within the outpatient clinic located at Providence Hospital in Anchorage.\nThis position will also require travel to our Valley clinic a few times per month to provide clinical support for our pulmonology provider. Valley clinic coverage will be scheduled in advance and is an expected part of the position. The remainder of the work schedule will be based in our Anchorage office.Position Qualifications & Requirements\n\n Current nationally certified Medical Assistant certification through NCCT, AAMA, or ARMA\n Minimum of two years of experience in a surgical practice setting\n High school diploma or equivalent\n Knowledge of medical terminology\n Ability to work independently and handle stressful situations tactfully and professionally\n Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and courteously with patients, families, coworkers, physician offices, hospitals, agencies, and the public\n Ability to effectively communicate and exchange patient-related information with clinic personnel and physicians\n Ability to read and write effectively in order to prepare and maintain medical records\n Analytical skills necessary for scheduling patient appointments and coordinating patient care\n Strong attention to detail when reviewing patient information and documentation in the computer system\n Excellent customer service skills and the ability to create a welcoming and pleasant environment\n Strong computer literacy and ability to learn and utilize electronic medical record systems\n Ability to multitask and complete assigned responsibilities within established time frames\n Ability to adjust to shifting priorities and remain organized in a changing environment\n Ability to remain focused and professional during stressful or difficult situations\n Demonstrated ability to work effectively with ambiguity and changing circumstances\n Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with patients, families, coworkers, physicians, and the public\n Must be willing and able to travel between the Anchorage and Valley clinic locations as required\n Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 20 pounds\n Commitment to ATACS and Alaska Health Services standards for professional interaction with patients, visitors, physician offices, hospitals, agencies, and coworkers\nJob Details\nJob Type: Full-time\nPay: From $22.00 per hour\nWork Location: In person\nPrimary Location: Anchorage, AK 99508\nAdditional Location: Valley clinic, as scheduledBenefits\n\n 401(k)\n Dental insurance\n Health insurance\n Health Savings Account (HSA)\n Paid time off\n Vision insurance\nCommute & Relocation\n\n Ability to commute to Anchorage, AK 99508 is required\n Candidates must be willing to travel to the Valley clinic a few times per month as part of the position\n Ability to relocate to Anchorage, AK 99508 before starting work is required\n\n
