The BHT will provide one‑on‑one interventions, including but not limited to crisis intervention, intensive behavior management support, emotional support, time‑structured activities, and psychological rehabilitative activities to children/adolescents with a wide range of disabilities and functioning levels at homes, schools, day care, and/or community. The services will enable the child to remain in the least restrictive treatment or education setting. Duties and Responsibilities Carries out specific interventions identified in the behavioral treatment plan developed by the Behavioral Consultant (BC), the Interagency Team, and the Elwyn treatment team: Teaches the child positive social skills to avoid or decrease socially inappropriate, threatening, or dangerous behavior through role play, modeling, positive reinforcement, as defined by the BC. Models and explains appropriate interventions to the child, family, and/or teacher, collaborating with them to model behaviors based on the BC’s interventions. Supports caregivers in providing immediate rewards or consequences for behaviors identified in the individual plan. Implements behavioral supports to help the child participate in events such as summer camp, community gatherings, and school‑based events. Records behavioral data and documents progress toward the child's treatment goals in Elwyn electronic health records. Writes daily progress notes consistent with treatment goal descriptors to be placed in the child's case files. Completes and submits weekly encounter forms to ensure appropriate billing. Complies with the BACB Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Ethics Code, including securing the required number of supervision hours per month to maintain certification. Renews the RBT certification annually, passing the RBT Competency Assessment and completing the renewal application. Performs CPR and crisis intervention using agency‑trained protocols. Performs other duties as assigned. Education, Skills, and Experience Requirements Must possess one of the following certifications at the time of hire or obtain it within six (6) months: Board‑certified assistant behavior analyst certification (BCaBA) Board‑certified autism technician (BCAT) certification Behavior analysis certification from an organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies or the American National Standards Institute High school diploma or equivalent and have received their registered behavioral tech (RBT) designation Minimum two (2) years of experience providing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services and a minimum of 40 hours of ABA‑approved training by the Department of Human Services (DHS) or a BACB‑approved educator Additional Requirements Minimum two (2) years’ experience in the provision of behavioral health services. Ability to keep pace with active children. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple competing priorities. Strong attention to detail. Strong time management and organizational skills. Excellent judgment, independently solving problems and making decisions with little or no direct supervision. Ability to anticipate future needed changes or identify problem areas and take effective actions. Must be able to perform CPR and crisis intervention using agency‑trained protocols. Excellent customer interaction, collaboration, presentation, and written and verbal communication skills. Basic experience with Microsoft Office Word and Outlook. Ability and means to commute between community‑based sites; if driving, must have a current valid driver’s license in the state of residence, at least two (2) years of driving experience within the United States, and an acceptable driving record.
