It’s located in one of the world’s safest and most economically vibrant communities and is Orange County’s second-largest employer, contributing $7 billion annually to the local economy and $8 billion statewide.To learn more about UC Irvine, visit Responsibilities Job duties include, but are not limited to: Manage senate, non-senate academic, and staff personnel actions for assigned units; independently interpret and apply University and campus personnel policies. Analyze complex employment, recruitment, advancement, compensation, leave, and separation matters; identify solutions and provide recommendations to faculty, staff, and leadership. Review academic hiring and personnel action packages for policy compliance, including OEOD recruitment requirements, approvals, salary, dates, and title codes; prepare exception memos as needed. Develop and implement personnel processes, procedures, and guidelines; collaborate with HR leadership and departments on policy changes, job descriptions, recruitments, and other personnel initiatives. Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related academic personnel, HR, or payroll experience. Demonstrated knowledge of UCPath, University policies and procedures, payroll practices, academic personnel policies, and applicable collective bargaining agreements. Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and computational skills, with the ability to interpret complex policies and resolve non-standard or urgent personnel matters. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to exercise diplomacy, discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism when working with diverse stakeholders. Ability to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions in English. Preferred: Experience supporting academic personnel actions within a higher education or University environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel and experience preparing personnel correspondence, reports, guidelines, and procedures. Experience developing or implementing HR processes and advising departments on policy compliance and personnel practices. Interviewing and hiring is based on internal hiring needs and how well the candidate's experience matches the assignment requirements. Certaintemporary assignments may require clearance of a health physical or require a valid California Driver’s License for driving university vehicles. The majority of our temporary positions are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. We also have occasional part-time, weekend, and evening hours available, depending on the assignment.
