Get to Know Your Team: Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state-of-the-art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU. Responsibilities The Phlebotomy Supervisor functions as a laboratory professional who assumes responsibility for leading the Phlebotomy laboratory department. With direct oversight of staff who perform specimen collection duties. This position also oversees training, competencies, scheduling, and operations within the phlebotomy department. At times, this role might be expected to perform specimen collections based on the hospital/laboratory need: venipuncture, capillary draws, urine collection instruction, and specimen culture collection instruction as assigned by their supervisor. Qualifications Job Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent. Completion of an accredited phlebotomy/medical assistant program with clinical rotations or previous phlebotomy experience. OR Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science, Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technician with knowledge of phlebotomy practices. Certification from a nationally recognized agency in Phlebotomy, Medical Laboratory Assistant, Medical Laboratory Science, or Medical Laboratory Technology. Clinical laboratory experience as a Phlebotomist, Medical Technologist, Clinical Laboratory Scientist, Medical Laboratory Scientist, or Medical Laboratory Technician within a clinical laboratory. Current knowledge of Phlebotomy principles. Overall knowledge of lab operations including safety, problem-solving, specimen collection, and specimen processing. Shows evidence of leadership skills managing people. Knowledge of department shift operations. Preferred Job Requirements: 5+ years’ experience as a phlebotomist or in a technical laboratory position. Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role. #J-18808-Ljbffr
