As an Acute Care Inpatient Pharmacist , you will practice across diverse service lines within a nationally recognized academic medical center, applying your expertise where it matters most and expanding your clinical range with every shift.

The Role
As a Clinical Pharmacist supporting acute and inpatient services, you will step into a dynamic clinical environment where flexibility, judgment, and strong foundational knowledge are critical.
In this role, you can expect to:
Provide direct clinical pharmacy services to hospitalized patients across multiple inpatient areas
Participate in interdisciplinary rounds , offeringmedication relatedrecommendations that support safety, efficacy, and individualized care
Review, verify, and manage complex medication regimens in alignment withevidence basedstandards
Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other care team members tooptimizetherapeutic plans
Support medication safety initiatives, stewardship efforts, and quality improvement activities
Adjust seamlessly to different unit workflows whilemaintainingconsistent clinical standards
Serve as a trusted resource for medication education and clinical consultation

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s in Pharmacy or Pharm. D Degree required.
Experience: PGY-1 residency required or equivalent hospital experience. (3.years). PGY-2 residency is preferred for specialty areas.
Licensure/Certifications: Commonwealth of Virginia State Board of Pharmacy. License required. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider. BLS certification required
Physical Demands – Job requires sitting for prolonged periods; Repetitive motion: typing. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull < 20lbs. May be exposed to fumes, chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
Onboarding Requirements
Background checks and pre-employment health screenings will be conducted on all new hires prior to employment. All safety-sensitive positions with direct patient interaction also require a drug screen.
The starting base rate for this role is $64.37 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
