Site Superintendent

Position Summary The Construction Site Superintendent plans, directs, and coordinates activities of a designated project to ensure that goals are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. Responsibilities and Other Duties Support the project from kickoff to completion. Implement site quality control and safety management. Enforce the project-specific safety plan and ensure compliance with OSHA safety policies. Ensure proper material management. Review and approve the scope of work and pricing. Manage subcontractors, vendors, and assigned staff. Attend all project meetings on site and serve as the on-site face of FSI. Represent himself/herself professionally in all on-site situations. Be reliable and dependable, a self-starter who can work independently. Maintain schedules, critical paths, and budgets for each construction project and coordinate budget and expenses with the Project Manager. Provide timely status reports to Project Managers and others as required. Develop an in-depth understanding of the contract, subcontractors, plans, and specifications to assist the project manager in developing on-site procedures. Create and implement inspection criteria and procedures. Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure progress on schedule and within budget. Perform quality control testing and inspection in accordance with contract requirements and company best practices. Review status reports prepared by project personnel and modify schedules or plans as necessary. Education and Work Experience Requirements High school diploma or GED; or four to ten years of related quality control experience and/or training. 5+ years of general construction site supervisory experience. Knowledge of building codes and requirements. Knowledge of a wide range of construction materials, methods, and techniques; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to build strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to run the site efficiently and effectively. Strong organizational and project management skills. Industry knowledge and ability to read blueprints. Excellent presentation and communication skills. Self-motivated and highly organized, with strong time-management skills. Comfortable communicating with anyone, from foremen to senior-level managers. Delivery of strategic solutions for clients. Overall knowledge of design, estimating, quality control, construction, and operations. Preconstruction activities including estimate preparation and subcontractor solicitation. Attend job meetings, including preconstruction, project, and staff meetings, and report project status and performance data to owner and team members. Advanced MS Word skills and proficiency in MS Office. Strong written English language skills. Qualifications / Certifications Required for Superintendent Position Minimum of 5 years’ general experience in construction management for medical facilities. American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) Healthcare Construction Certificate ('HCC'). This can be scheduled after employment. Current USACE Construction Quality Certificate required, or must obtain within 90 days of hiring. Current OSHA 30-hour certification preferred but not required. Current CPR FA AED certificate preferred but not required. Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record required. Must be able to pass a company drug screen and background check.
