Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN - Telemetry for a night shift position requiring an active MA RN license and prior telemetry nursing experience.

Details

• Work in the Telemetry unit of a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 18:45-7:15)
• Required to work every other weekend
• Must be able to work all 7 days due to union facility scheduling policies
• May float to the ED for boarder patients as needed
• Patient care involves cardiac telemetry, MS/Tele, respiratory, GI, GU/renal, and neurological/psychiatric conditions

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required in hand
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience required
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Experience with chest tube management, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and tracheostomy care
• Experience with wound care/wound vac, IV insulin protocols, and pre/post cardiac cath care
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for telemetry patients including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Must pass a Pass/Fail Telemetry test (80% passing score, one attempt) and a Pass/Fail Medication exam during orientation
• Complete pre-start and orientation modules as required by the facility
• Holiday coverage required, with only one major holiday permitted as RTO
• Up to 14 days of RTO can be submitted for review, with no RTO allowed during the first week
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius at the same bill rate; RN radius eligibility extends to 200 miles
• Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
• Candidates with prior disciplinary actions on their nursing license cannot be considered
