Work Environment

Although the position is remote, regular team meetings and case consultations will be conducted via video conferencing to maintain strong communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough mental health assessments for children and adolescents, effectively identifying emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges.
- Design and implement individualized treatment plans that account for each patient’s unique circumstances, development stage, and family dynamics.
- Utilize evidence-based therapeutic methods, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), to address conditions such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavioral disorders.
- Lead family therapy sessions to empower parents and caregivers, equipping them with strategies to foster supportive home environments.
- Collaborate with child psychiatrists and other healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care and comprehensive service delivery.
- Provide crisis intervention and short-term support during mental health emergencies, helping families navigate immediate challenges.
- Educate patients and their families about mental health issues, potential treatments, and local resources available to them.
- Maintain precise and confidential patient records in adherence to legal and ethical standards, using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Engage actively in professional development activities and remain informed of advancements in child and adolescent psychiatry through continuous education.
- Participate in departmental meetings and case discussions to contribute to team knowledge sharing and collaborative problem-solving.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Our primary focus is on children and adolescents aged 5 to 18 who struggle with various mental health issues. These may include but are not limited to anxiety disorders, mood disorders, ADHD, and oppositional defiant disorder. We emphasize a family-centered approach, ensuring that parents and guardians are involved in the treatment process, ultimately promoting a supportive network for the child.
Qualifications
- A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
- Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist (LCMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Psychologist (LCP), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), or Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker (LSCSW) in the state of Kansas.
- Significant knowledge of child and adolescent mental health disorders, including recent evidence-based treatment modalities.
- Proficient communication skills, with the ability to build trust and establish rapport with children, adolescents, and families.
- Experience in providing individual and family therapy tailored to younger populations.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and data management.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Experience
- A minimum of two years of experience working in a mental health setting specifically with children and adolescents.
- Experience conducting family therapy sessions and crisis intervention.
- Prior involvement in community outreach programs or initiatives supporting child and adolescent mental health.
Compensation and Benefits
