Clinical Assistant - Neuro Progressive Care Unit

Founded in 1921, Straub Benioff Medical Center includes a 159-bed hospital in Honolulu, a network of neighborhood clinics and a visiting specialist program that reaches throughout the state of Hawai'i. With over 200 physicians who are leaders in their fields, Straub provides its patients with diagnoses and treatments for more than 32 different medical specialties, including bone and joint, heart, cancer, endocrinology/diabetes, family medicine, gastroenterology, geriatric medicine, internal medicine, vascular and urology. Straub is home to the Pacific Region’s only multidisciplinary burn treatment center. The hospital consistently brings new technologies and innovative medical practices to Hawai'i, such as minimally invasive cardiac surgery and total joint replacement.

The Neuro Progressive Care Unit offers specialized care to patients with specific medical/surgical needs, with a strong focus on those with neurological conditions. The department puts great emphasis on providing complete case management, privacy and communications services, as well as maintaining patient safety and infection control. One of the unit’s distinctive features is its telemetry monitoring, employed for patients who are hemodynamically unstable or require continuous cardiac monitoring.

As a Clinical Assistant, you will join the team of accomplished clinical professionals providing exceptional health care services at Straub. In this role, you will help to perform a variety of nursing and health care procedures, as well as certain clerical services. Minimum Qualifications: High school or equivalent. Completion of nurse aide course with certification OR completion of nursing fundamentals. Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR card.

Preferred Qualifications: One (1) year of clinical experience OR a successful completion of HPH Nurse Aide Program. Current Hawaii CNA certificate. One (1) year clerical experience in a healthcare setting.
