PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: Under supervision, performs public contact and clerical work in processing and issuing motor vehicle licenses, mobile machinery, sales taxes and fees.

MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY AND PERFORMANCE:

Office Duties:

• Prepares and types letters and forms;
• Establishes and maintains files;
• Processes mail;
• Enters data into computer;
• Responds to phone and personal inquiries;
• Receives property tax payments;
• Places telephone calls to delinquent taxpayers;
• Assists in collection of delinquent taxes;

License Duties:

• Issues new plates and renewal tabs for vehicles;
• Issues reminder cards;
• Transfers plates;
• Verifies VIN numbers with plates;
• Issues licenses for mobile machinery;

Financial Duties:

• Balances cash drawer daily;
• Reconciles bank statements;
• Collects bad checks;
• Deposits funds;
• Collects sales taxes and fees;
• Maintains inventory;
