JOB DESCRIPTION

INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL

QUALIFICATIONS:

Indiana administrative certificate (covering grades 5-6) Successful experience as an elementary teacher.

JOB GOAL:

Assist the principal in the areas of leadership, supervision and administration so as to promote the educational development of each student.

TERMS:

215 days, twelve-month year. Salary established annually by the Board. Reports to: Principal

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for directing, coordinating and implementing the student discipline policy. Responsible for implementing, monitoring and enforcing the building attendance policy. He/she will serve as the building attendance officer. Responsible for supervision of lunchroom facility. Responsible for the revision and production of the student handbook. Responsible for intermediate school facility scheduling. Responsible for the administration of the student recognition program. Responsible for the administration and supervision of the extra‑curricular program. Responsible for the hiring process as designated by the principal. Serve as the liaison between community‑directed athletic organizations, such as, PTO, AAU, etc. and the intermediate school. Responsible for the evaluation and implementation of instructional improvement plans for certified staff as assigned by the principal. Serve to direct the athletic program as directed by the principal. Responsible for all duties as assigned by the principal.
