Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking an experienced Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) with orthopedic and joint replacement experience for a travel assignment in Easton, Maryland. This opportunity is ideal for nurses looking to grow their travel careers, as first-time travelers are welcome with strong Med/Surg and Ortho/Joint experience.

Assignment Details

• Shift: Nights
• Schedule: 3x12s (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Weekly Hours: 36
• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics
• Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Required as scheduled

Unit Information

This position supports a busy Orthopedic/Joint Replacement Unit caring for adult and geriatric patients recovering from orthopedic procedures and joint replacement surgeries. Nurses work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide exceptional patient-centered care in a fast-paced medical-surgical environment.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Perform focused patient assessments and identify care needs.
• Monitor, analyze, and document changes in patient condition.
• Develop and update patient care plans based on assessments and outcomes.
• Administer treatments and interventions according to physician orders and facility protocols.
• Educate patients and families regarding care plans and recovery.
• Coordinate care with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic, and compliant patient care environment.
• Apply clinical judgment and critical thinking to prioritize patient care needs.
• Adhere to all facility, state, federal, and nursing practice standards.

Requirements

Required

• Active Maryland RN License
• BLS Certification
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience
• Strong orthopedic/joint replacement experience
• Ability to work every other weekend and scheduled holidays

Preferred

• ACLS Certification
• CPI Certification
• NIH Stroke Certification
• Previous travel experience (not required)

Floating Requirements

Floating may be required:

• Within the specialty
• To other qualified units within scope
• To affiliated facilities as needed
