Tax Manager Or Senior Tax Manager
A full service accounting firm is seeking a Tax Manager or Senior Tax Manager to oversee preparation and review of federal and state tax filings for business and individual clients. The role involves managing client relationships, providing tax planning and advisory support, supervising junior staff, and conducting tax research. The position requires strong technical tax expertise, leadership ability, and experience working in public accounting environments.
Prepare and review business and individual tax returns
Manage client portfolios and provide ongoing tax advisory and planning support
Perform tax projections and planning based on client requirements
Research complex tax issues and provide recommendations
Supervise and mentor junior tax staff involved in return preparation
Maintain strong client relationships and ensure timely communication via calls and emails
Stay updated on changes in tax laws through professional reading, seminars, and training
Identify and recommend process improvements within tax workflows
Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders
Support development of best practices and knowledge sharing within the firm
Perform other related duties as required
Bachelor's degree required
CPA, EA, or JD required
Minimum 8 busy seasons of experience in public tax accounting
Strong experience preparing and reviewing individual and business tax returns
Experience with Thomson Reuters tax software preferred
Strong understanding of federal and state tax regulations
Proven experience in staff supervision and client management
