Working Title Accountant Trainee - Accounting - Metropolitan State Hospital - 26-0003 Classification ACCOUNTANT TRAINEE Job Code # JC-526141 Position #(s) 487-541-4179-XXX Salary $4,442.00 - $5,296.00 A Number of Positions 1 Location Los Angeles County Telework In Office Job Type Permanent, Full Time Facility DSH - Metropolitan Job Description And Duties Under the direction of the Senior Accounting Officer Supervisor, the Accountant Trainee position is responsible for performing professional accounting work in the establishment and maintenance of accounts and records while receiving training; learn agency activities, departmental systems, and central fiscal control activities; and develop interpersonal skills by contact with program personnel and control agencies in fiscal control activities. Duties include: processing check and payment transactions to suppliers; auditing and analyzing invoices, purchase documents and contracts in order to make proper payments; maintaining accurate ledgers; reviewing reports; correcting errors; and posting adjusting entries. Other duties may include: performing various reconciliations, processing overtime meal allowances, replying to Public Records Act requests, assisting other desks and other duties as directed. Excellent customer service skills, strong analytical skills, and good computer skills are highly desired.
