Key Responsibilities\n- \n
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments tailored to the specific challenges faced by elderly adults, such as cognitive decline, chronic illness, and socio-emotional needs. \n
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to enhance mental well-being, carefully considering each patient's medical history and psychosocial factors. \n
- Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, offering solutions like cognitive-behavioral therapy or motivational interviewing during individual and family therapy sessions. \n
- Collaborate with geriatric psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals within the clinic to ensure an integrated approach to patient care. \n
- Provide crisis intervention services for elderly patients experiencing acute mental health episodes, ensuring their safety and addressing immediate needs. \n
- Educate patients and their families about diagnostic and prognostic information, treatment options, and community resources available to support their mental health journey. \n
- Maintain compliant and accurate patient documentation, adhering to established legal and ethical standards for confidentiality. \n
- Actively participate in case consultations, team meetings, and ongoing professional development to stay abreast of the latest research and best practices in the field. \n
Our primary focus within the community health clinic is the geriatric population, whom we serve with great respect and dedication. You will be working with older adults facing various psychiatric conditions, including depression, anxiety, dementia-related disorders, and adjustment difficulties due to life changes or health-related issues. Qualifications\n- \n
- A Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited program. \n
- Possession of a current and valid license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in California. \n
- A minimum of two years of post-licensure clinical experience providing therapy, particularly to the geriatric population. \n
- Strong knowledge of current treatment standards, interventions, and evidence-based practices related to geriatric mental health. \n
- Proficiency in managing electronic health record (EHR) systems and familiarity with various therapeutic software. \n
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, exhibiting patience and empathy towards seniors and their families. \n

- Prior experience in crisis intervention and management within a geriatric setting. \n
- Experience in delivering family therapy and understanding familial dynamics as they pertain to the elderly. \n
