Travel PCU/Stepdown Nurse (RN) | Richmond, Virginia

Schedule:

• 12-hour day shifts
• Every other weekend and major holidays required
• Weekend block scheduling may be available

Role Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive initial and ongoing cardiac assessments in a 27-bed progressive care setting
• Administer and titrate cardiac infusions (Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Nitroglycerin, Amiodarone)
• Manage BiPAP and insulin drips; proficient with peripheral IV starts and lab draws
• Monitor continuous cardiac rhythms and interpret EKGs; required to pass EKG exam at orientation
• Collaborate closely with a robust team, including CNAs and experienced charge nurses
• Float to ICU, Med/Surg, and ED within your scope as needed
• Adhere to strict infection control and patient safety protocols

Required Qualifications:

• Current RN license in state of practice or compact equivalent
• Minimum one year of RN experience, including six months in acute care preferred
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (must have or be willing to obtain)
• Demonstrated ability to manage and titrate advanced cardiac drips
• Experience with continuous cardiac monitoring and respiratory modalities
• Strong communication and critical thinking skills
