Lincoln Medical Center Scottsdale Osborn Medical Center Scottsdale Shea Medical Center Scottsdale Thompson Peak Medical Center Deer Valley Medical Center Sonoran Crossing Medical Center Four Peaks Medical Center Tempe Medical Center Florence Medical Center Job Summary This position sets up, operates, and administers all types of respiratory care equipment and procedures for respiratory disease diagnosis and treatment in general floor and critical care areas. Responsibilities include evaluating therapeutic objectives, transcribing physician orders into the medical record, performing arterial puncture, blood gas analysis, co‑oximetry, ECG, electrolytes, and basic pulmonary function testing, operating and monitoring mechanical ventilators, ensuring airway patency and humidification, and assisting patient transport. Essential Functions Gather materials and equipment for therapy and transport them to patient bedside; review patient charts and verify patient identity. Document all ventilator parameters and respiratory treatments in the medical record promptly; report delays or omissions. Review physician prescriptions for completeness; assess neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients to determine appropriate respiratory care level. Assist physicians with bedside procedures; take verbal orders and transcribe appropriately; perform bag‑mask ventilation and maintain airway during life‑threatening events; attend all resuscitations, traumas as assigned. Perform basic pulmonary function testing, including vital capacity, force inspiratory/expiratory flows, flow‑volume loops, peak flow maneuvers, and resting and exercise oximetry; some perform full studies. Collect soiled equipment, transport to respiratory therapy department or clean area, and clean, disinfect, sterilize or package as needed; troubleshoot minor equipment issues and initiate repair or maintenance. Perform other duties as assigned. Education Graduate of a 2‑year AMA‑approved Respiratory Care program (Required) Graduate of a 4‑year Bachelor level or AMA‑approved Respiratory Care program (Preferred) Experience Experience as a Respiratory Therapist (Required) 6 months experience for Network float position (Required) 1 year clinical experience (Preferred) License and Certifications Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) – Licensed (Required) Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – Registered (Required) Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) – BLS Certification (Required) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – Preferred Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – Preferred Credential from National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) – Preferred We're all in for your career. #J-18808-Ljbffr HonorHealth
