\n JPS Health Network has been serving the residents of Tarrant County for over 100 years, covering a population of 3.5+ million. As the county health network and Level-1 Trauma Center, JPS is also an urban teaching hospital with a long history of training physicians and medical students. JPS offers 18 residency and fellowship programs, including the largest family medicine residency in the nation. 

\n Job Summary: 
The Neurosurgeon provides comprehensive neurosurgical care for patients requiring diagnosis, treatment, and surgical intervention for disorders of the brain, spine, and peripheral nervous system. This position involves evaluation and management of trauma patients, performance of complex neurosurgical procedures, participation in teaching and research activities, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient outcomes in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
\n Is comfortable working in a large public/county facility and Level-1 Trauma Center environment. 

\n

?Can demonstrate working knowledge in neurosurgery, and competency in surgical techniques, diagnosis and treatment processes for neurological and neurosurgical conditions. 

\n

Has excellent interpersonal, verbal, and oral communication skills. 
\n Is self-directed and takes the initiative to develop and participate in community activities and medical outreach.  Collaborates with other neurosurgeons, residents, fellows, APPs, and multidisciplinary teams in overseeing and coordinating the care delivered to all patients in inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings to optimize quality patient care. 
\n Reviews patient medical charts to assist with diagnosis, treatment and care management. 
\n Makes appropriate patient referrals as necessary. 
\n Monitors guidelines for the management of care and for ensuring that the services are delivered in compliance with the guidelines established by JPS Health Network and Acclaim Physician Group. 
\n Provides care education to patients and families. 
\n Provides evidence-based and compassionate care to all patients as assigned to improve patient outcomes and increase patient satisfaction scores. 
\n Maintains a collaborative environment with providers, clinical staff, and support staff. 
\n Supports academic, educational and research endeavors. 
\n Provides trauma call coverage and emergency neurosurgical services as assigned. 
\n Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications: 
\n Education & Training:  
\n Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school.  
\n Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in Neurosurgery. 

\n Licensure & Certification:  
\n Board Certification in Neurosurgery required. 
\n Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in the State of Texas. 

\n Experience: 
\n Experience in Level-1 Trauma Center environment preferred. 
\n Academic teaching experience preferred.
