Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery | Contract

Location: New York, NY

Duration: 14 Weeks

Shift: 3x12-Hour Shifts | Full-Time

Hours: 36 Hours Per Week

Pay Rate:

• Local: $2,450 – $2,550 Weekly
• Travel: $2,900 – $3,060 Weekly

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive care throughout the antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum phases. The ideal candidate will have strong maternal-child nursing experience and the ability to manage high-acuity laboring patients while ensuring exceptional outcomes for both mother and baby.

Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality nursing care in the Labor & Delivery unit.
• Monitor and interpret Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) strips.
• Administer and manage conscious sedation according to established protocols.
• Perform IV insertion, phlebotomy, medication administration, and patient care coordination.
• Assess, triage, and admit patients while maintaining accurate documentation.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Respond effectively to maternal and neonatal emergencies.
• Maintain patient safety and confidentiality at all times.

Preferred:

• Experience caring for high-risk obstetric patients.
• Strong maternal-child nursing background.
• Experience in a busy Labor & Delivery environment.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills.

Requirements:

• Active New York State RN License.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN/ASN) or higher.
• Current AHA BLS Certification.
• Current AHA ACLS Certification.
• Current NRP Certification.
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience.
• Minimum 2 years of IV insertion and phlebotomy experience.
• Strong assessment and clinical decision-making skills.
