Hourly Full-time (35-40)

Position Summary

Under general direction of the lead shop mechanic, provide maintenance service at Andrews University fleet of Piper aircraft.

Qualifications

• Current FAA Aircraft Maintenance Certificate with both the Airframe and Powerplant ratings
• Inspection Authorization preferred
• Bachelors' degree in aviation or related field is preferred
• Prefer significant aircraft maintenance experience on a large variety of GA aircraft
• Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written English
• Commitment to the University's goal/mission of providing Christian quality programs and services for students with diverse abilities and interests, personal qualities to work effectively and sensitively in a multicultural environment; with awareness and commitment to the special needs of traditional and non-traditional students
• Interpersonal skills to interact with students, colleagues, and administration effectively and professionally in a university learning community
• Computer literate
• Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing

Technical Competencies

• Knowledge of light aircraft maintenance
• Piper aircraft experience preferred

Physical Demands

• Must be able to perform all type of maintenance functions
• Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in all types of Michigan weather while performing maintenance functions as needed
• Must be able to move aircraft in and out of the hanger
