Empower Communication Across the Lifespan in the Heart of Texas Join Us as a Speech Language Therapist
Imagine a career where your passion for helping others enables individuals to communicate and connect with the world around them. Here in the vibrant heart of Texas, your role as a Speech Language Therapist will transcend traditional therapy; it will become a transformative journey. You will unlock potential, enhance confidence, and forge deep human connections, whether it's toddlers learning to express themselves or seniors improving their abilities to navigate life.
This position offers a unique chance to cater to a diverse demographic, from children to the elderly, within a dynamic environment that melds outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient support. Your expertise is valuable, whether you're enthusiastic about pediatric speech and language development, addressing adult neurogenic disorders, or aiding geriatric populations in regaining their communication skills.
Conduct thorough evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations utilizing both standardized assessments and observational methods.
Design individualized treatment plans that target immediate concerns and promote long-term communication and swallowing improvements.
Deliver focused speech therapy sessions aimed at enhancing communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing capabilities.
Engage in collaborative care with a multi-disciplinary team, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and family members.
Provide valuable education to patients and families to facilitate progress outside of therapy sessions.
Occasionally assist with inpatient evaluations and interventions, ensuring continuity of care for every patient.
Maintain precise documentation in adherence to state and federal guidelines.
Stay informed about advancements in the field through ongoing education and peer collaboration opportunities.
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
State licensure as a Speech Language Therapist.
Preferred completion of the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of start date.
Mastery of evidence-based treatment approaches tailored for all age groups, with a solid understanding of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
Exceptional communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
Capability to adapt therapy methods to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Strong clinical judgment and adept problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with electronic medical records and adherence to documentation standards.
Compensation that reflects experience and skills.
Flexible scheduling options to promote a healthy work-life balance and a varied caseload.
Opportunities for specialization in areas such as pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatrics.
Paid time off (PTO) and holiday compensation.
Access to medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans.
Financial support for continuing education and professional growth.
A collaborative team environment that prioritizes quality care and ongoing learning.
In this fulfilling role, you will not merely deliver speech therapy; you will join a community dedicated to restoring voices and enhancing communication. Through meaningful interactions, you'll be an integral part of the journey toward understanding and connectivity with those you serve.
Here, you will work alongside fellow clinicians who foster a spirit of camaraderie, thriving in an environment that values collaboration over competition. Every patient brings a unique narrative, and we trust you to help shape that story.
