ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Seeking a dedicated and experienced ICU Registered Nurse to join our team. This position requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in an Intensive Care Unit setting.

Job Details

• Shift Type: 12-hour Days
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Certifications Required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holidays: Must be available to work 2 of the 3 major holidays

Unit Information

• Unit: ICU
• Beds: 32 (licensed for 40), organized in pods of 8
• Nurse to Patient Ratio: 2:1
• Charge Nurse: Yes, without patient assignment
• Nurse Aides: Typically 1 on days only
• Telemetry: RNs are responsible for reading and interpreting strips
• Common Patient Diagnoses: Higher level neuro, cardiac, PCI, sepsis, alcohol withdrawal, stroke, TBI

Responsibilities

The ICU Registered Nurse will provide high-quality patient care to critically ill patients, including those who are on ventilators and receiving various drips such as pressors, antiarrhythmics, and sedation.

Orientation and Training

• Day 1 Orientation: 8 hours with ICU educator, 4 hours with preceptor
• Day 2 Orientation: 12 hours with preceptor

Additional Information

Professional appearance is important; no acrylic nails or gel polish are permitted during the assignment. Familiarity with Cerner EMR is preferred. Float requirements include possible shifts in telemetry and ED ICU/telemetry holds.
