Analyze geographic data, create maps, and support environmental, land, and urban planning projects.
Overview
This role involves analyzing geographic information about the earth's surface and providing technical support for a variety of applications including environmental management, land ownership, urban planning, and asset management. The position requires working with GIS software to create and maintain maps and databases, compiling geographic data, and analyzing spatial information for reports and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Analyze geographic information to support various projects and applications.
- Create and maintain maps and databases using GIS software.
- Compile geographic data from sources such as satellites, aerial photographs, and existing maps.
- Analyze spatial data to generate geographic statistics for reports.
- Enter new map data using digitizers or direct input of coordinate information.
- Meet with users to define data needs and develop applications.
- Bachelor's degree in a GIS, scientific, or equivalent discipline.
- At least 1 year of related experience.
- Knowledge of GIS principles, cartography, coordinate systems, and spatial data analysis.
Background Check and Drug Screen may be required.
