Join our team as a Physical Therapist and experience the charm of historic New England while providing care to a diverse patient population. This role offers an opportunity to work in a medical-surgical unit, primarily focusing on general medicine with a predominant geriatric demographic.

Position Overview

• Role: Physical Therapist (PT)
• Department: Medical/Surgical
• Number of Openings: 1
• Shift: Day shift; Tuesday through Saturday
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 35
• Weekend Hours: Required every Saturday

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient evaluations and develop effective treatment plans for medical-surgical cases.
• Communicate directly with medical staff and ancillary personnel about discharge recommendations.
• Work primarily on medical-surgical units, providing coverage as needed in the Acute Rehab Unit (ARU) on Saturdays.
• Evaluate and treat patients, managing a caseload of 8-10 new patients daily in medical-surgical and 3-4 patients in ARU for 60-90 minutes each.

Qualifications

• Experience: One year of experience in a medical-surgical setting is preferred.
• Required Certifications: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Communication Skills: Must be comfortable collaborating with medical staff and ancillary personnel.
• Education: Must be licensed as a Physical Therapist in the state.

Work Environment

• Small community setting with a supportive and easy-going staff.
• Facilities include a 50-bed medical-surgical unit and a separate 15-bed Acute Rehab Unit.
• Patient population includes general medicine, with common diagnoses related to cardiac, GI, respiratory, and orthopedic conditions.

Dress Code

• Preferred scrub colors: grey or black; business casual acceptable.
• No blue jeans allowed.
