Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Active Illinois license required or confirmation that application process has been initiated Certifications: BLS, ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate Must-Have: Experience with IV chemotherapy and immunotherapy regimens, administration, handling precautions for chemotherapy, and monitoring for side effects Description: This position is for an oncology unit that cares for patients with various types of cancer, including lymphoma and leukemia. The unit has 19 private beds. Nurse-to-patient ratios depend on unit census, typically 1:6 on nights, but can vary based on specific needs. Charge nurses are available 24/7 and may take an assignment if necessary. Patient care technicians are utilized on the unit to assist with patient care. The unit handles telemetry with equipment that does not require nurses to read or interpret strips. Nurses work 12-hour shifts, with flexibility depending on unit needs, and self-scheduling is available. Weekend and holiday work is required on a rotating basis. This position includes floating to other units as necessary. Experience using EMR documentation systems is preferred.
