Real Estate Transactional Attorney

We are looking for a real estate transactional attorney to join our team in Oakland, California. This role is ideal for a lawyer with several years of experience advising nonprofit organizations, private entities, and public agencies on property-related matters tied to affordable housing and community development. The position offers the opportunity to manage substantial portions of complex transactions while working in a collaborative, high-performing legal environment.Responsibilities:• Advise clients on real estate transactions involving affordable housing, community development, and economic development initiatives.• Draft, review, and negotiate purchase agreements, financing documents, operating agreements, and other transaction-related contracts.• Lead key components of deal structuring, due diligence, and closing processes for acquisitions, dispositions, and development projects.• Counsel nonprofit organizations, for-profit entities, and public agencies on ownership structures, tax considerations, and regulatory obligations.• Support matters involving government funding programs, subsidies, and compliance requirements connected to housing and development projects.• Provide legal guidance on rental housing operations and affordable housing program rules throughout the transaction lifecycle.• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to move transactions forward efficiently and resolve legal issues as they arise.
