Position Summary:

Ability to create programs in MasterCam and set-up CNC machines for operators. Apply knowledge of CNC machining and safety along with the use of good hand-working skills. Reports to the Machining & Programming Group Leader.

Essential Functions:

-          Create programs in MasterCam

-          Set-up machinery

-          Inspect tooling

-          Operate machinery

-          Deburr/Clean finished parts

-          Measure finished parts to ensure accuracy

-          Fill out in-process inspection sheet

-          Work with travelers and routing information specific to jobs

-          Enter job time and part quantities into E-2 Shop System software

-          Identify product flaws in process and report to group leader

-          Observe all safety regulations and use common sense in new applications

-          Work with QC on proper inspection methods and documentation, build in process inspection criteria

-          Responsible for assigned jobs and documentation validity of white books for production work

-          Acquire and retain knowledge of current shop software (E-2) and the K&H Quality Statement and Quality Management System

Skills:

-          Manual dexterity required

-          Proficient math skills required

-          Knowledge and ability of building machine fixtures, using fixture offsets & setting up machines

-          Understanding of materials used, feeds and speeds for efficient machining

-          Ability to problem solve and resolve issues related to machining

-          Ability to train machine operators to effectively run parts using their programs

-          Proficiency in GD&T required

-          Print reading ability required

Education & Experience:

-          Associates Degree in related field or equivalent experience

-          Experience working in manufacturing or production

-          A minimum of three (3) years’ knowledge and experience in working with CNC vertical mills

-          Knowledge and experience in working with precision measurement equipment

-          Experience in machine programming required

-          A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in MasterCam program editing & posting

Work Conditions:

The performance of this position may include exposure to coolant from machines. The noise level in the working environment is normal to moderate. Safety glasses are required.

Physical Requirements:

The performance of this position may require the team member to walk, bend, climb, stoop, reach, sit or stand for extended periods of time throughout the day. The position may also require the team member to perform repetitive motions throughout the day. The team member is required to demonstrate manual dexterity and use hands to operate machinery and may be required to lift up to 40 lbs.

The employee is expected to work professionally and cooperatively with others. Regular attendance is required.
