Community Manager

West End Station is a property that calls for a community manager who can run a full operation, not just put out fires. Hawthorne Residential Partners, one of the larger Southeast-based multifamily operators in the country, is hiring for this Winston-Salem location and looking for someone who's ready to own the outcome. What This Role Actually Covers This is the full seat. You're accountable for financial performance, occupancy, team development, resident satisfaction, and the physical condition of the asset. On any given week, that means reviewing delinquency reports and following up on collections, walking the property for curb appeal and punch list items, coordinating with maintenance on work order backlog, and making sure your leasing team is converting traffic. It also means sitting in on a tough conversation with a resident and then turning around to coach a new leasing consultant on objection handling. The scope is real. On the leasing side, you'll set pricing strategy and renewal targets alongside whatever guidance comes from regional. You'll support your team on tours when volume demands it, and you'll monitor occupancy closely enough to adjust concessions or marketing spend before a problem becomes a headline. Yardi and Knock are the core platforms here, so comfort with both matters from day one. Vendor management, compliance, deposit accounting, move-out processing, online reputation, social media, resident events. It's all on your plate. That's the job. Who Fits This Role At least two years in multifamily, including time as a leasing consultant and assistant manager Six months of direct community manager experience, strongly preferred Working knowledge of Yardi, Knock, and Microsoft Office High school diploma or GED; CAM, CAPS, or a real estate license is a plus Valid driver's license The candidates who tend to succeed here aren't necessarily the ones with the flashiest resumes. They're the ones who understand how financial performance and team morale connect. A manager who can read a T-12, spot where NOI is leaking, and then walk back to the leasing office and genuinely motivate their team is a different skill set than most people think. If you've only ever done one or the other, this role will stretch you.
