by organizing technical workshops, peer programming sessions, and documentation initiatives.Act as the primary escalation point for complex technical challenges, diagnose multi-system issues by conducting in-depth performance analysis, debugging, and reviewing logs and telemetry data.Lead root cause analysis efforts and implement strategic solutions that not only resolve immediate problems but also prevent future occurrences.Work closely with site reliability engineers (SREs) and DevOps teams to improve system stability, enhance observability, and optimize incident response procedures.Drive AI adoption by identifying opportunities to integrate automation, machine learning models, and AI-powered tools into engineering workflows.Conduct research on AI-driven solutions that can improve software development efficiency, such as intelligent code suggestions, predictive maintenance algorithms, and automated testing frameworks.Provide technical leadership in exploring AI-driven optimizations for business processes, ensuring responsible AI implementation and adherence to ethical guidelines.Work closely with Product Owners, Engineering Leadership, Architects, and other stakeholders to align technical solutions with business objectives.Define long-term technical roadmaps, break down complex projects into actionable deliverables, and ensure that dependencies across teams are well-managed.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide strategic input on feature feasibility, impact assessment, and prioritization, ensuring that engineering efforts contribute directly to business success.Ensure security, reliability, and scalability of applications, and proactively identify vulnerabilities, assess risks, and implement security best practices such as encryption, authentication, and access control mechanisms.Work on infrastructure improvements, security enhancements, and system optimizations to mitigate risks, reduce technical debt, and maintain compliance with industry regulations.Contribute to incident response planning, disaster recovery strategies, and capacity planning efforts to ensure system resilience.Foster a culture of continuous learning by encouraging experimentation, technical deep dives, and engagement in industry trends.Promote engineering excellence through initiatives such as internal knowledge-sharing sessions, technical blogs, and mentorship programs.Facilitate retrospectives and postmortems to identify lessons learned from past projects and improve future development cycles.Help teams embrace innovation and drive technological advancements.Assess project risks by evaluating technical dependencies, identifying potential bottlenecks, and analyzing trade-offs between speed and quality.Through proactive risk management, develop contingency plans, recommend alternative approaches, and mitigate technical debt accumulation.Ensure that projects remain aligned with business priorities by collaborating with product management teams to balance short-term deliverables with long-term strategic goals.Identify inefficiencies and optimize system performance by implementing automation tools and processes to improve developer productivity, reduce manual tasks, and enhance system efficiency.Leverage performance profiling tools, monitor system metrics, and refine database queries to eliminate bottlenecks and improve overall application responsiveness.Introduce infrastructure-as-code (IaC) practices and cloud-native solutions to streamline deployments and increase operational agility.Minimum Requirements: This position requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or a directly related field of study, plus the following experience: 10 years experience in software development; 5 years experience in establishing technical standards, defining architectural guidelines, and embedding engineering best practices to enhance code quality and system resilience; 5 years experience in mentoring engineers across multiple technical domains, including system architecture, performance optimization, and site reliability; 3 years experience in technical leadership roles, driving cross-functional initiatives and technical direction without formal authority. Salary: $156,998 to $200,000/year. Full-time, position located in Irving, TX. Experience may be gained concurrently. Hybrid position. 3 days in office and 2 days remote. Must reside within commuting distance from the employer's Irving, TX office. Various unanticipated locations.
