Overview The Supply Planning Manager is responsible for overseeing Supply Management across assigned categories and planners, ensuring seamless coordination and optimization. The role aligns mid‑term to long‑term supply plans with near‑term manufacturing and working capital requirements, striking a balance between demand, production capacity, and inventory efficiency. The manager leads a team of supply planners, managing master production scheduling, finished goods, work‑in‑process inventory, excess and obsolete stock, and finished goods replenishment throughout the distribution network. The manager drives key performance metrics such as customer order fill rate, distress to sales ratio, and Days on Hand/Working Capital, while fostering a collaborative and high‑performing environment. Responsibilities Provide essential guidance and leadership to the supply planning team, fostering collaboration and high performance. Act as liaison with business partners to ensure smooth coordination on all supply chainrelated projects. Leverage data‑driven insights to optimize processes, mitigate risks, and enhance operational effectiveness. Communicate effectively with business and manufacturing partners to address capacity constraints and ensure production efficiency. Ensure master scheduling, product replenishment, and inventory management metrics are consistently met. Identify action items, marshal resources, and actively follow up on supply planning issues to drive timely resolutions. Oversee and optimize inventory levels at distribution centers and plants, implementing strategic stocking policies and coordinated storage strategies. Manage key business factors to achieve the targeted customer order fill rate of 98.5% and reduce inventory alert levels and distress sales across assigned product categories. Enforce and utilize capacity planning models, enhancing efficiency and ensuring seamless production flow. Advise marketing and sales on capacity availability and limitations for new and existing business simulations, enabling informed decision‑making. Collaborate with cross‑functional partners to manage inventory within constraints and align with business strategy. Identify and resolve potential future capacity constraints and bottlenecks, engaging appropriate resources. Engage demand management, manufacturing, quality, warehousing, and transportation teams to resolve finished goods issues and analyze consumption patterns. Oversee escalation processes, developing and monitoring contingency planning protocols to mitigate risks and ensure operational continuity. Drive a positive employee experience through leadership, employee development, and coaching. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four‑year college or university and 5+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 2+ years of demonstrated experience in team management/development or project leadership. Proven track record of handling highly complex networks within supply planning, inventory control, logistics management and/or manufacturing production. Experience with Advance Planning Systems (Logility/JDA/APO/etc.). Strong communication skills (oral and written) with the ability to engage stakeholders at multiple levels. Project management and process improvement mindset and experience. Hands‑on experience with modeling, analysis and simulation tools. Ability to multitask, handle ambiguity, and maintain high accuracy and attention to detail. Analytical skills to balance competing interests and determine resources needed to meet objectives. Ability to work well under pressure with limited supervision and make immediate value‑based decisions. Team‑oriented collaboration and strong relationship building skills. Respectful and approachable demeanor. Requires travel, up to 20% of the time. Other Skills That Make You Stand Out Experience with SAP and its related supply chain applications (preferred). Physical Demands & Work Environment Capable of sitting for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. Able to travel as needed. Relocation Package Relocation Package Available.
