Utility Locator

Job Overview Starting pay ranges from $19.98 per hour for new locators to $38.03 per hour for those with substantial prior locating experience. This is a daytime, full‑time role that requires independent field work, a 48‑hour turnaround on many locates, and the ability to work overtime, weekends, and on‑call shifts (including nights). Responsibilities Correctly, safely, and efficiently locate underground utilities, including telecommunications, electric power, cable TV, gas, water, and sewer systems. Thoroughly search designated areas, accurately mark locations, complete the necessary documentation, and photograph each locate. Use ticket and claims management systems to ensure clear and complete mark‑out services for excavators or property owners. Work during daytime hours with a 48‑hour turnaround, requiring overtime, weekend, and on‑call shifts as needed. Qualifications & Requirements Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions; previous outdoor experience is a plus. Proficiency with technology. Available to work overtime, weekends, and on‑call shifts as required. Able to pass a drug screen (this is a safety‑sensitive position). Valid driver’s license and safe driving record. Able to work in a confined space; walk, bend, and lift up to 75 lbs. Able to distinguish between colors used to identify wiring and mark underground utilities. Able to read, understand, and reference locate tickets, maps, and prints. Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners.
