Job Title: Emergency Department Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Nurse Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Current RN license Certifications: BLS and ACLS Must-Have: Strong assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team Description: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Emergency Department Registered Nurse to join our team. The ED RN provides high-quality, patient-centered emergency care across the lifespan. This role involves working independently while collaborating closely with physicians and other teams. Key responsibilities include providing emergency nursing care to patients of all ages, including triage, assessment, treatment, and stabilization. Responding to trauma activations, medical emergencies, and urgent care needs is essential. You will administer medications, IV therapy, and emergency interventions per protocol. Operating and assisting with emergency equipment, such as cardiac monitors and defibrillators, is required. Collaboration with providers, EMS, and ancillary departments to coordinate patient care and transfers is crucial. Accurate documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic health record is needed. You will educate patients and families regarding care, treatment plans, and follow-up. Maintaining compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements is necessary. This position may require floating to other units as needed. Preferred qualifications include emergency, ICU, or acute care nursing experience. Experience in rural or critical access hospital settings is a plus. Physical requirements include the ability to stand, walk, lift, and move patients as needed.
