The Opportunity

We're partnering confidentially with a fast-growing engineering-led organization to appoint an Engineering Director . This is a senior leadership role for someone who thrives at the intersection of electrical engineering, control systems, and mechanical integration , and who enjoys building and scaling high-performance engineering teams.

You'll play a key role in shaping engineering strategy, technical standards, and delivery across complex electromechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and scale a multidisciplinary engineering team (Electrical, Controls, Mechanical).
• Own technical direction across electrical systems, controls architecture, and mechanical integration.
• Oversee design and delivery of complex engineered systems from concept through production.
• Act as the technical authority across electrical controls, switchgear, panels, and system integration.
• Collaborate closely with operations, manufacturing, and senior leadership.
• Drive engineering best practice, process improvement, and technical governance.

Background & Experience

• Strong foundation in Electrical Engineering with deep exposure to control systems .
• Solid understanding of mechanical design as it relates to electrical systems .
• Proven experience leading engineering teams in an industrial or infrastructure environment.
• Industry experience within switchboards, control panels, data centers, industrial automation , or a closely related sector.
• Comfortable operating both strategically and hands-on when required.
