Staff Product Designer

t0.ai

T0 is your AI CFO from day zero. We automate the entire financial backend for founders—from bookkeeping and payroll to tax, forecasting, and investor reporting—so they can focus on building instead of managing financial busywork.

We’re not a research lab — we’re a launchpad. Our team is building an AI-powered finance engine and moving fast alongside real companies. Ideas go from whiteboard to production in weeks, not years, and engineers see the immediate impact of their work in the hands of customers.

Our mission is to rewire the broken infrastructure of global finance, and your work directly contributes to that transformation. At T0, you’ll solve real problems with immediate customer impact, operate with autonomy and ownership, and build foundational AI on top of infrastructure already supporting businesses at scale. If you want to move fast, tackle challenges that truly matter, and help redefine how financial operations work across the industry, this is where you build.

About the Team

The T0 AI team designs intelligent, autonomous systems that eliminate financial operations for companies globally. We automate everything from bookkeeping and reconciliation to tax, payroll, forecasting, and document understanding—turning hours of work into seconds. The team blends deep research pedigree with proven industry experience. We operate with high standards, are tool-agnostic, and expect engineers to own problems end-to-end. We collaborate closely, push boundaries responsibly, and ship exceptional work quickly. You’ll solve unprecedented technical challenges using unique, end-to-end financial datasets no one else in the industry has.

About the Role

As a Staff Product Designer - AI, you help design the next generation of financial software: AI-native, autonomous, and radically user‑centric. You’ll partner closely with engineering and product leadership to go from zero to one: from strategic concepts through to high‑fidelity execution.

This role is 60-40 UI to UX, and we want someone with exceptional visual/UI craft who has proven they can design thoughtful, usable workflows.

As our first designer for this newly created product, you’ll shape not just the product itself, but the design culture, principles, and direction of this journey.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the product design vision — from the first sketch to live product
  • Invent new interaction paradigms for a world where AI agents do the work, and humans supervise and steer
  • Work hand‑in‑hand with product and engineering to rapidly explore, prototype, and iterate
  • Balance broad strategic thinking with hands‑on execution in Figma, Lovable, and other vibe‑coding tools
  • Translate complex financial workflows into elegant, approachable experiences
  • Contribute to product strategy, roadmap, and customer validation

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of professional experience as a product designer
  • Proven experience designing products from 0→1 in highly ambiguous environments
  • Exceptional visual and UI design craft, with strong end‑to‑end execution skills
  • Ability to independently own design work from early concepts to polished UI and developer handoff
  • Experience designing for complex systems, AI‑driven workflows, or automation
  • Strong collaboration skills with engineering, product, and cross‑functional partners
  • Deep customer empathy with experience validating designs through user feedback
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands‑on execution in tools like Figma and Lovable
  • Comfortable working in fast‑paced, startup‑style environments and making trade‑offs
  • Experience designing for desktop web, mobile web, and native applications

Nice to Have

  • Experience designing AI‑native, SaaS, or workflow automation products
  • Background in fintech, finance operations, or tools for startups
