Work Environment

This role is based primarily in patients' homes, allowing you to provide individualized, compassionate therapy in a familiar and comfortable setting. Key Responsibilities

• Assist licensed Physical Therapists with comprehensive patient evaluations and assessments by gathering pertinent information and demonstrating empathy and respect.
• Collaborate with the Physical Therapist to modify treatment plans and therapeutic exercises based on the specific needs and preferences of each patient.
• Instruct and support patients through a variety of therapeutic exercises and activities, offering encouragement and clear directions to ensure proper technique and safety.
• Utilize therapeutic modalities such as heat, cold therapy, and electrical stimulation to alleviate pain and foster functional recovery, ensuring a focus on patient comfort throughout.
• Provide education and guidance to patients and their families on exercise techniques for effective home care, reinforcing the importance of compliance in achieving rehabilitation goals.
• Monitor, document, and communicate patient progress thoroughly to ensure proper care adjustments and enhanced patient outcomes.
• Engage with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate holistic patient care, fostering a unified approach among healthcare providers.
• Maintain accurate patient records, employing care and attention to detail to support continuity of care and reimbursement processes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Qualifications

• Completion of an Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from an accredited program.
• Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
• A minimum of one to two years of practical clinical experience in a physical therapy setting.
• A solid understanding of physical therapy principles and practices, coupled with a desire to assist patients in achieving their rehabilitation goals.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to ensure effective engagement with patients and their families.
• An ability to work both independently and cooperatively within a team-oriented atmosphere, valuing collaboration and respect.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits
