Lean Specialist, Project Engineer

Position Overview This position is responsible for overseeing and driving Lean Manufacturing initiatives across the full production environment at TRUMPF Inc. This role leads the development and execution of improvement strategies aligned with SYNCHRO (TRUMPF Lean Manufacturing Production System) principles. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive Lean Manufacturing (SYNCHRO) strategies across all production areas, aligning with organizational goals and priorities. Plan, lead and execute continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, improve productivity, optimize cycle times, and enhance product quality. Oversee end-to-end production processes, identifying opportunities for improvement in workflows, layouts, material flow, and resource utilization. Manage and coordinate SYNCHRO workshops (Kaizen events), ensuring effective execution and sustainable results. Lead cross-functional project teams, providing direction, coaching, and support to ensure successful implementation of improvement initiatives. Develop project plans, define goals, track progress, and provide regular status updates and reports to leadership. Ensure alignment of SYNCHRO activities with TRUMPF group standards, methodologies, best practices and objectives. Promote a culture of continuous improvement by training and mentoring employees in Lean principles and SYNCHRO methodologies. Monitor and sustain improvements by establishing KPIs, tracking performance metrics, and ensuring accountability. Coordinate all Lean Manufacturing (SYNCHRO) activities with headquarters to ensure TUS is in alignment with Group methods and objectives. Perform any other duties as designated by management. Qualifications & Experience Minimum of 3–7 years of experience in a related position (Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement roles). Expertise in the Toyota Production System and lean manufacturing principles/techniques. Six Sigma Black Belt knowledge is a plus. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple large-scale projects simultaneously. Strong communication skills and ability to encourage cooperation and teamwork across departments. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is required.
