Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab/EP Technologist with 2+ years of Cath Lab experience and ARRT(R) certification for a progressive cardiac, peripheral vascular, EP, and IR program.

Details

• Progressive cardiac catheterization lab performing cardiac, peripheral vascular, electrophysiology, and interventional radiology procedures
• Average daily census of 6 patients
• Day shift schedule of 5x8 hours from 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM
• 8-10 hour shifts, 5 days per week based on department staffing needs
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Call required up to 3 times per week, including every other weekend, with 30-minute response time
• Weekday call is 3 days/week when not on weekend call, or 2 days/week when assigned weekend call
• Equipment includes Impella, IABP, Inari, EKOS, AngioJet, Rotoblator, Shockwave, Diamondback, Medrad, and ACIST
• Siemens and Canon imaging systems used
• Epic EMR with Cupid documentation required
• High-performing Code STEMI team with best-in-system Door-to-Balloon times

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• ACLS, BLS, and ARRT(R) certification required
• CCI RCIS certification preferred
• LA state license or compact license required if applicable
• EP and IR experience preferred
• Experience with embolizations, coiling, ablations, and implants (ports, pacemakers, ICDs)
• Proficiency with Impella, IABP, IVUS, Shockwave, Rotoblator, laser atherectomy, and thrombectomy devices required
• Strong STEMI experience with FTB/DTB times under 60 minutes
• Ability to perform peripheral vascular and EP procedures independently
• Epic EMR experience required
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include venous access, port accessing/management, central venous access and care, EKG lead placement, and prepping access sites
• Performs diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab procedures including PCI, PTCA, left/right heart catheterization, and pacemaker insertions
• Performs EP procedures including cardiac mapping, ablation, cardioversion, and AICD/pacemaker insertion and programming
• Performs interventional radiology procedures including embolization, angioplasty, stent placement, and vascular closure techniques
• Serves as room circulator and scrubs to maintain sterile field during procedures
• Maintains equipment, stocks supplies, and manages inventory
• Must be a strong team player with a patient-first mindset and willingness to share knowledge with colleagues
• Orientation is held 5 days a week
• Candidates may be assigned to an emergency response team requiring them to remain at the facility during emergency events
• Does not accept local candidates; must live more than 65 miles from the facility
• RTO must be disclosed and discussed during the interview process
• Former permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must be separated from the facility for one full year before returning as a traveler
